Longwing derbys is a real classic among more informal shoe models. Our version is inspired by the old American shoemakers, with a heavier appearance with double rubber sole and storm welt, made on our rounder last Ben.
The ambition with our Skolyx range of shoes is to provide our customers with the best value for money possible. At a very competitive price range, our private label is our own take on the entry-level quality shoe. With our shoes you get the Mallorcan DNA, a Goodyear welted construction and a leather board heel stiffener, something fairly hard to match considering its price point.
Construction:
Goodyear welted
Leather board heel stiffener wich makes the shoe easy to adapt to your feet (cheaper brands usually use plastic heel stiffeners wich makes the shoes very heard to break in).
Leather:
Embossed full grain calf leather from the famous French tannery Du Puy.
Sula:
Double rubber sole. A durable rubber sole at the bottom that we have developed ourselves, with a midsole in leather for a heavier profile and even more durability.
Sizing:
Sizes are comparable to other Goodyear welted shoes like Yanko, Loake, Crockett & Jones and Carmina. Here you'll find an extensive size guide to all our shoes. If you are still uncertain on your size, please e-mail ktj@skolyx.se for further guidance.
Shoe care:
Saphir Medaille d'Or Creme Pommadier shoe cream and Saphir Pate De Luxe wax polish in black for regular care. Use Saphir Creme Renovateur 1-2 times / year for cleaning and extra nourishment. See below for further care instructions.

Basic shoe care:

Shoe care advice
You come a long way by just follow these four steps (more on these in this guide):
- Don't use the same pair for two consecutive days
- Brush/wipe off the shoes after use
- Use shoe trees in cedar wood
- Treat with shoe cream
Regarding the last bullet point we recommend Saphir Medaille d'Or Crème Pommadier, depending on how often they are used it may well be enough to polish them once a month or so. Remember that any care is better than no care at all. Creme Pommadier is a very ample shoe cream, so use small amounts and apply evenly over the shoe, either with a polishing cloth or an applicator brush. Also use this brush for the area between the upper and the sole edge, and don't forget the sole- and heel edge itself which also is of leather and needs care and new colour.
Let the shoe rest 5-10 minutes and brush of residues and bring out the shine with a shoe brush with horsehair. Repeat 1-2 times if the leather is dry or have lots of marks. If you wish to achieve a higher shine you may combine it with Saphir Pate de Luxe wax for the final shining finish and further protection.
